Apply early for student housing – it pays off!

Whether you want student housing near the city center, campus or close to nature and good hiking opportunities, it is no secret that the most popular homes are those that are rented out first. Many students have the same wish list when they are looking for housing, and many therefore also end up with the same first choice. One element that also increases the competition for housing is that most students want to move in at the same time. So how can you increase your chances of getting your first choice?

Whether you dream of living near the city center, campus or close to nature, many people want the same thing. The most popular apartments disappear quickly, and many students end up with the same first choice. And not only that: almost everyone wants to move in at the same time – preferably in August.

So how to get the apartment you want?

Every year, many graduates move out in May or June – and many apartments are therefore ready for move-in before the summer. If you apply early and say yes to summer move-in, you have a better chance of getting your first choice compared to those who want to move in in August. We allocate apartments on a first come, first served basis. This means that if we have space available, you can move in at any time – even on the same day

If you have accepted an apartment, but your application to study is rejected, you can withdraw from the contract by July 24. You just send us the documentation from Samordna Opptak to bolig@samskipnaden.no, and we’ll take care of the rest. If you have already moved in, you must be out by July 31.
