After the party comes the test

If you've had unprotected sex, you can take a free test at our self-testing stations on campus.

Chlamydia is the most common sexually transmitted infection among young people under 25. If left untreated, it can lead to reduced fertility and increase the risk of contracting other sexually transmitted infections.

We have several self-testing stations on our campuses so you can catch it early. The restrooms are marked with round, pink stickers.

Finnmark and Troms were recently at the top in Norway, but Oslo has now surpassed us. Perhaps people have become better at getting tested here in the north, while more efforts have been made to facilitate testing.

Symptoms of chlamydia

Chlamydia can often be completely asymptomatic. This means you could be a carrier without knowing it. Therefore, you should test yourself every time you've had unprotected sex with a new partner.

The test for men is a simple urin sample, while women insert a special Q-tip into the vagina. The samples are put into an envelope and put in a mailbox. Everything happens inside the bathroom, so that the test can be done discreetly. The samples are picked up by a nurse and you will get Your test results within a couple of weeks if the test is positive. If you do not hear anything within this time, it means the test was negative. Remember that it takes at least two weeks from the time of infection until it shows up on a test.
