As study and semester start dates cannot be changed, your child can start in our kindergartens in Tromsø as early as six months of age.

⏰ Extended Opening Hours
If you have work placements or a demanding schedule, our kindergartens offer extended opening hours upon request. Several of our kindergartens have fixed extended hours from 07:15.

📖 Exam Guarantee – We Support You in Busy Periods
Do you have an exam when your child is ill? We can help with childcare! If your exam coincides with a planning day and you need childcare, we will provide a substitute teacher. Remember to inform the kindergarten manager and provide documentation at least two weeks in advance.

📖 Open on Saturdays During Exam Periods
We organise activity Saturdays during the busiest exam periods in spring, giving you more time to focus on your studies while your child enjoys fun activities.

In addition, Samskipnaden offers family apartments specifically for student parents, so you can live close to both the kindergarten and your place of study.

As a student, you are given priority placement in our kindergartens. This provides extra security when planning your studies, as you can be assured that your child will have a high-quality kindergarten place near campus or student accommodation.

Nutritious Meals – Making Your Life Easier

With us, your child receives healthy and nutritious meals every day, so you don’t have to worry about preparing packed lunches during your busy student life. Meals follow the Norwegian Directorate of Health’s guidelines for food and meals in kindergartens, ensuring balanced and healthy eating habits.

Several of our kindergartens even offer full meal plans, where all meals are provided. This makes life easier for you as a parent and helps reduce food waste.
