Why you should choose student housing

Freedom of choice

A shared apartment would be perfect if you feel most comfortable with many people around you - there is always someone to have a coffee or chat with. If you feel most comfortable alone, a single room might be better for you. If you want to move in with your girlfriend/boyfriend or a friend, an apartment with one or two bedrooms might be a better fit. If you have children, you need a family apartment with room for everyone. We also have disabled accommodation.

Visit friends in your pajamas

It is sociable to live in student housing. The Student Health and Well-being Survey (SHoT) shows that there is an increasing degree of loneliness among students compared to the general population, and living with one or more fellow students means that you for instance can visit in your pajamas, have movie nights, and waffle Sundays with others.

Your own caretaker

When choosing student housing, you are guaranteed a tidy tenancy with a safe and serious landlord who ensures you are well looked after. We use standard leases that secure you as a tenant, and we have a housing office (Boligkontoret) at your service. The facilities are tailored to the needs of students, and you don't have to think about maintenance, snow removal, or stair cleaning. If something does not work or is broken, it can easily be reported to our caretaker service.

Things are taken care of

Living in student housing is safe. All our homes meet all fire and safety regulations, and we have security guards. You can therefore be sure that your safety is taken care of.

Predictable

As a tenant at Samskipnaden, you have a predictable tenancy. We mainly offer annual contracts, and in most cases, residents can keep the same accommodation throughout their studies. This assumes that you continue to meet our contract terms. When Samskipnaden sends out an offer for renewal, it is important to accept the offer if you want to continue the tenancy.

Adapted to student life

At Samskipnaden you have a tenancy adapted to your life situation and wishes - even if this should change. If, for example, you want to move closer to campus, move in with your girlfriend/boyfriend, a friend, or have a family, it is easy to change the type of accommodation and the area of residence.

Well-being hosts (trivselsverter)

It is important to feel comfortable at home and have a good living environment. Many of the student housing units have well-being hosts. These are students who live in the community and at the same time work for Samskipnaden. They arrange social gatherings such as movie nights and waffle Sundays, residents' meetings, and are the contact persons between the residents and Samskipnaden.

Affordable rent and no deposit

By choosing student housing, you can be sure you have made a good financial choice. The prices are reasonable and usually include both electricity and internet. It is neat and clear how much you pay per month. It is also worth noting that we do not require a deposit when renting student housing and are thus more adapted to a student economy.

Internet included

In most homes, there is the same internet as at the university or school, which provides a seamless network with excellent capacity.

No need of housing anyway? No problem!

We recommend applying for student housing as early as possible - preferably when you apply to study. If it turns out that you don’t get accepted at the university or school, there is no problem in giving up the housing. This can be done free of charge until July 24th. Beyond this, the ordinary notice period applies.
