Join us in the Norwegian Championship in healthy food in the canteen!

Three of Samskipnadens canteens – Teorifag, MH og Narvik – take part in the Norwegian Championship in healthy food in the canteen 2025. The health authorities and the food industry facilitate this competition in order to make healthy food more accessible in everyday life.

Didi you know that most of us eat too litle fruit, vegetables, whole-grain products and seafood? Last fall the Norwegian Directorate of Health introduced new dietary guidelines that recommend more of that - and now we can try it out in our canteens.

The competition lasts for six weeks - from October 1st til November 12th.

During this period you will find more healthy options at those three canteens made with #MoreOf-ingredients - fruit, vegetables, whole-grain products and seafood.

A professional jury chooses the winner based on the selection and focus on #MoreOf-ingredients in the canteens, dedication and visibility.

Student health is one of the Samskipnadens core areas, and healthy diet is the foundation for good health. In addition to health benefits, increased use of fruit, vegetables and fish contributes to lower climate impact. Reduction of climate impact from food products is one of our priority areas, where we have a target of 10% reduction in 2025 compared to 2024.

Our broad participation in the competition with three canteens increases awareness and engagement related to smart food choices in our canteens and with our customers.
