Green Habits That Last a Lifetime
In the kitchen, the focus is on reducing food waste. The kindergartens only buy what they need, short-dated food is used first, and freezers are emptied before holidays. Leftovers are given new life in fresh meals – an effort that benefits both the budget and the environment.
Nutrition is also a priority. The menu includes more fish and vegetables and less meat – good for both the children and the planet!
The From Soil to Table project is a firm favourite among the children. Here, they get to be little farmers – sowing, planting, harvesting, and finally eating what they have grown themselves. This gives them a unique understanding of where food comes from and why it’s important to take care of it.
