Nyland studentboliger klar for innflytting (igjen)!

Since December 2020, there has been extensive renovation and upgrading of our student housing at Uusimaa in Alta. The entire B-block has now been updated to the 2021 version. All dormitories have their own bathrooms, so that our residents do not have to share. All walls have been re-insulated and all windows have been replaced. In addition, both the kitchen and hallways have been refurbished in addition to the facade being replaced. In addition, the upgrade that has now been done will reduce the energy consumption in the buildings, which in turn is good for the environment. Win win for everyone

First B, then A-block

The work is not finished yet. Now it's the turn of the A-block. And the work on this has already started. The A-block will be completed by the summer, so that both blocks are ready to move in well in advance of the start of studies.

Take care of what we have instead of building new

"Much of Samskipnad's building stock is old, and it costs to put it in modern condition. But it is much better to take care of what we have, than to, for example, demolish and build new ones. This is also in line with the environmental commitment we work with in Samskipnaden "says Kuivalainen.

12 million earmarked for Nyland student housing

In August 2020, the organization received a grant for upgrading and renovating older housing stock from the Ministry of Education and Research (KD). The grant was given to make our student housing more accessible and to increase life expectancy.

KD had a premise for the grant, and that was that we implemented the work quickly! And from December 2020 to April 2021, a formidable job has been done to update our housing offer in Uusimaa. The association received a total of 29 million in grants, which constitutes an upgrade of 200 student dormitories. 12 million was earmarked for Nyland student housing, and the change is enormous.

Grants distributed per project

200 dormitories and NOK 28.9 million:

Åsgård student housing (Tromsø) (17 million)

Uusimaa student housing (Alta) (11.9 million)
