Where am I on the waiting list?
This is naturally a question that is repeated by many. If it has been a while since you applied for student housing, you may be wondering why you have not received an offer yet, or where on the waiting list you are. Unfortunately, it is difficult for us to say anything about what place you have on the list, or how long it will take before we can offer you a home. We send out offers of student housing on an ongoing basis, those who have been out early to apply or are under 23 are given priority.
What do I have to do when I'm on a waiting list?
When you are on the waiting list to get student housing, it is important that you make sure that the date for the desired move in on the application is ahead of time and that you continue to keep the application active. If you do not renew, your application will be canceled. You will receive an email and / or a message in the app when it is time to renew the application and you can change your application on the Housing Portal at any time.
What do I do if I do not receive an offer of housing for the start of the semester?
If you do not receive an offer from us before the start of the semester, we recommend continuing and being on a waiting list. We often get many vacant homes throughout the autumn, and the chance that we have something to offer you eventually is great. While you wait, you may want to look for other opportunities in the private market.
Hotel deals
The co-sponsor and the student parliament have entered into a collaboration with Thon, Scandic and Clarion hotel, which offers a special price on rooms for students without student housing at the start of their studies. If you are on a waiting list but are homeless, you can contact the Service Center for information about this offer.
I have been offered housing but it was not the first choice, should I say no?
Unfortunately, we can not give all applicants their first choice. If you say no to the offer you receive, your application will be canceled and you must apply again if you still want student housing with us. If you do not want to live where you have been allocated housing, we still recommend that you say yes, and then apply for a change later this autumn.
