Location

Alpinveien Student Housing is situated adjacent to the Narvikfjellet ski resort. If you enjoy downhill skiing, then this is definitely the place for you. You only need to cross the road to reach one of Norway’s leading ski resorts. This student housing is just 400 m from UiT Campus Narvik and less than 1 km from downtown Narvik.

Housing

Alpinveien Student Housing has 64 single rooms. The rooms are 12 square meter. Two students share a bathroom and eight students share kitchen. The rooms contains a bed (90 cm), desk, office chair, coffee table, armchair, wardrobe and curtains. You need to bring your own bed cloths (pillow and bedspread) and kitchen equipment. There is internet connection.

Neighbourhood

Alpinveien Student Housing provides an ideal base for enjoying the great outdoors. In summer as well as winter, you can catch the cable car up to the restaurant and continue further up if you wish. You can enjoy panoramic views of sea, mountains, fjord and Narvik city. Residents at Alpinveien will not be reliant on a car. It is only a few minutes’ walk to the closest supermarket. If you enjoy going to the gym, it is just a five-minute walk to Kraft Narvik, which is located on the campus. The students’ fitness centre features a 13.5 m high climbing wall. If you walk down a steep hill from here, you will be in the centre of downtown Narvik.

Walk or cycle to campus

It takes about 5 minutes to walk to the University.

Public transportation

Because of the location of our student houses it is not often necessary to take the bus. It takes about 15 minutes to walk to the bus terminal, which is located beside the Amfi center in the middle of the town. Among the buses at the bus terminal you can choose between local buses, regional buses and the airport bus.
