Location

Prestvannet Student Housing is located close to nature in the middle of the island of Tromsøya, 1,5 km from downtown Tromsø and 4 km from the university. The student housing comprises of five connected apartment blocks and six two-storey wooden buildings. Prestvannet student kindergarten is next door to the student housing. This student housing offers single rooms, two and three-room family flats and disability-friendly flats. The residents have access to a communal laundry and sauna. The laundry is located on 1st floor in Olastien 8, separate entrance.

Housing

Each single room is 14 m² and is furnished with a bed, desk, drawer unit, chair, book shelf, coffee table, lounge chair and blinds. You need to provide your own bed linen and kitchen utensils. Each studio apartment has a private bathroom, which five residents share each kitchen/work station. Each apartment has the option of a storage room and access to a communal storage room for sporting equipment. The laundry is located on 1st floor in Olastien 8, separate entrance.

Neighbourhood

Prestvannet Student Housing is an excellent base for outdoor recreation. The student housing is beside large areas of forest, which are popular for excursions year-round. There is easy access to hiking terrain and illuminated cross-country ski trails. The lake Prestvannet and surrounding park area are great for walks/jogging and connects with paths that lead further around the island. The closest supermarket and gym at Elverhøy are just a five-minute walk away. The gym connected to the Elverhøy Student Housing, which features basic strength and conditioning equipment, is open to members of the Kraft student sports centre.

Walk or cycle to campus

There are excellent oportunities to bike, walk or ski from Prestvannet Student Housing to the university. A network of illuminated cross-country ski trails stretching the length of the island connects the student housing with the campus. It takes 45 minutes to walk. You can walk to downtown Tromsø in 15 minutes.

Public transportation

There are good bus connections to downtown Tromsø. From downtown Tromsø or from Giæverbukta you can take a bus directly to the university campus.

Parking

Tromso kommune has a fee of 100 NOK per month for parking. To make an agreement about parking, please read more at samskipnaden.no/Frequently Asked Questions/Parking Guest must pay with the parking app Easy Park. Read more on signs at the parking areas.
