In the course of their studies, many students will experience periods when life is difficult. This may involve issues related to mental or physical health, your studies, your economic situation, drugs/alcohol or your family life.
The student counselling service is here to help you find solutions to make your everyday life easier to master to allow you to continue studying. We can help you to gain an overview of the challenges you are facing and help you to process your thoughts and feelings. You can come for private counselling sessions over a shorter or longer period.
Student counselling is offered to registered students at the UiT The Arctic University of Norway, regardless of whether you study full-time, part-time or online. The service is free and you don’t require a referral. Coming for a counselling session should be easy. The student counsellor has an obligation to maintain confidentiality and we have short waiting times. Feel free to visit our office during opening hours (room E 2040) or contact the Student Counsellor by SMS or e-mail - firstname.lastname@example.org / +47 924 66230.
We will facilitate contact with programme coordinators, lecturers and the Norwegian State Educational Loan Fund, so we can adapt your studies to suit your current position. Perhaps you need a new individual education plan or even leave of absence from your studies.
We can also provide assistance if you need to contact other bodies, such as a doctor or the Norwegian Labour and Welfare Administration (NAV).
You are also welcome to contact us on behalf of friends or family if you are concerned about someone you know.
Welcome to the student counselling service.
