"Puffs!" Play Auditions - Two date options

"Puffs, or Seven Increasingly Eventful Years at a Certain School of Magic and Magic." For seven years a certain boy wizard went to Wizard School. This, however, is not his story. This is the story of the Puffs… who just happened to be there too. A play for anyone who has never been destined to save the world.

This is a fast-paced one-act 90ish minutes play. The language will be in English. There are 11 cast members, non-gendered. Four of those roles play a singular character while the additional 7 roles play multiple different characters. Below are the descriptions of the primary role for each actor:

• Wayne Hopkins; a nerdy orphan wizard boy from New Mexico (location will change).
• Oliver Rivers; a mathematician wizard from New Jersey (location will change).
• Megan Jones; daughter of the infamous Xavia Jones who thinks she should be in the Snakes house.
• Narrator; The one with all the heavy books.
• Cedric; the lead Puff at the magic school.
• Susie Bones (and others); a Puff who lives in fear of death, because her entire family died.
• J Finch Fletchley (and others); a flamboyant and happy Puff.
• Sally Perks (and others); She goes to school here and is completely blind throughout half the show.
• Ernie Mac (and others); a very confident and self-obsessed Puff.
• Hannah (and others); a shy Puff who gets made fun of by the other houses and does not realize what is happening.
• Leanne (and others); a Puff who grew up as an only child, has never seen other children until now and wants to be friends with everybody.

Once you have registered, you will be sent a monologue to rehearse and prepare. It does not need to be memorised but we recommend it if you can. During the audition, once everyone has gone through the monologue, you will be put into groups to read through scenes together. After that, there will be an improv portion which is intended to see how much fun you can have on stage and how you connect with fellow cast members.

There will be an apx. 3 week commitment at the end of Oct. Rehearsals will held in the afternoon. A complete calendar of rehearsals will be shared during the auditions.
