About the wait list and when to expect a housing contract

Do you have questions about when you can expect to be given a housing contact? Here we explain how we allocate our student housing.

Where am I on the wait list?

We prioritise applications based on application date, but also move-in date and housing area. In some cases, those who can document special needs accommodations will also be prioritised. Since it is difficult to estimate whether our sent contracts will be accepted or rejected, we do not disclose your position on the waiting list, as it may be inaccurate.

When can I expect to be given a contract?

If your application has the status "unprocessed," it means it has been registered and is in the processing queue. The time it takes for you to receive a response depends on the number of available housing units. In Norway, most people receive their university acceptance letters at the end of July, and there will likely be some changes in the application lists based on this.

Is there anything I can do to get housing sooner?

We have many applicants, and not everyone receives a housing contract as quickly as they would like. We encourage you to keep your application updated and, if you no longer need student housing, to delete your application so someone else can take your place in the queue. Responses to applications are sent in the form of a digital lease for the assigned housing.

Our best advice is to apply early, preferably for multiple housing areas. It is also recommended to request an early move-in date, such as in July instead of August. This will give you the best possible chance of receiving a housing offer.
