About cleaning

Shared kitchens and common areas are cleaned and kept in order by each individual tenant after use. Kitchen equipment is placed in cabinets and drawers. The tenant keeps their kitchen cabinet/drawer, as well as space in the refrigerator/freezer, clean and tidy. Everyone is responsible for ensuring that garbage is properly wrapped according to current waste sorting guidelines and emptied into the garbage container every day.

Cleaning Schedule
Where there are multiple users, a rotating schedule is established to show who has the primary responsibility for cleaning each week. Keep the garbage cabinet clean and tidy, wash the floor, clean the extractor fan, wash the fronts of the kitchen cabinets, refrigerator, and freezer, as well as clean the stove and oven. If a tenant is away and is listed on the cleaning schedule, they must arrange for someone else to take their place. We will periodically inspect the common areas. If there is inadequate cleaning, there will be an opportunity to clean it. If it is not done by the next inspection, Samskipnaden will clean the common areas at the tenant's expense.

• Clean ceilings, walls, mirrors, and door.
• Clean the bathroom cabinet.
• Clean the toilet - inside, outside, and underneath.
• Clean the sink (including underneath) and faucet.
• Clean the shower fixtures and shower walls/cubicle very thoroughly.
• Clean air vents.
• Clean the filter and drain in the shower. Lift the grate and remove the dirt that is in the drain.
• Storage Room
• The storage room should be emptied and cleaned. Samskipnaden is not responsible for abandoned belongings.

• Clean desk lamp, ceiling lamp, and similar items.
• Clean desk and desk chair.
• Clean sofa, coffee table, and armchair.
• Dust the bed, mattress topper, and bed legs.
• Empty and clean wardrobe (on top, inside, and outside).
• Clean drawers and bookshelf (remember underneath shelves too).

• Remove any food and clean (your part of) the refrigerator and freezer.
• Clean (your) kitchen cabinets and kitchen drawer/shelf.
• Remove any food items.
• Extra for Apartments: Pull out the refrigerator, clean the wall and floor behind it. Also, clean the exterior of the refrigerator.
• Clean the kitchen sink and faucet.
• Pull out the oven, clean the wall and floor behind it.
• Clean the oven (inside, outside, and cooktop), remember baking trays.
• Clean the extractor fan and the filter.
• Clean the splash guard.

Waste should be disposed of as usual in waste bins or containers. We are happy to assist with the removal of larger items. Please contact us on "My Page."

In Tromsø and Narvik, we can provide waste cards. The waste card can be used to dispose of larger items, such as broken furniture, etc., at Remiks. This card can be borrowed from the housing office. Please remember to sort the waste in advance.
