Mortensnes student housing is located in a quiet area on the western side of Tromsøya. It is one of our most popular residential areas for families with children.
The housing area is situated right next to large forested areas, providing excellent opportunities for outdoor activities throughout the year. For younger children, there is a playground within the housing complex. Leo’s Playland (Leos Lekeland) is located directly across the road from the residences. The nearest kindergarten is only 400 metres from the housing area. The closest student kindergartens are Breivika and Universet, both located on campus.
From Mortensnes Student Housing, it is easy to cycle or walk to the university. Many people in Tromsø also cycle during the winter, and if you are up for the challenge, you can get to campus quickly even in the colder months. It takes about 15 minutes to cycle to campus and around 30 minutes to walk.
There is a grocery store and a Biltema store directly across the road from the residences, and Tromsø’s largest retail park, Jekta/K1, is approximately 1 km away, offering a wide range of shops and dining options. Giæverbukta Bus Terminal is also located there, with bus connections to all parts of Tromsø. If you are travelling by air, the airport is conveniently located less than 3 km from the housing area.
