Location

Prestvannet Student Housing is located close to nature in the middle of the island of Tromsøya, 1,5 km from downtown Tromsø and 4 km from the university. The student housing comprises of five connected apartment blocks and six two-storey wooden buildings. Prestvannet student kindergarten is next door to the student housing. This student housing offers single rooms, two and three-room family flats and disability-friendly flats. The residents have access to a communal laundry and sauna. The laundry is located on 1st floor in Olastien 8, separate entrance. In the spring / summer of 2022, the blocks in the area will be renovated. There may be some construction noise.

Housing

The one bedroom flat comprise of a small living room with kitchenette, bedroom and bathroom. The flats are unfurnished, and do not include white goods or curtains. To know the size of the refrigerator/appliances, please contact the Service Center directly for targets. Each apartment has a storage room and access to a communal storage room for sporting equipment. The laundry is located on 1st floor in Olastien 8, separate entrance.

Neighbourhood

Prestvannet Student Housing is an excellent base for outdoor recreation. The student housing is beside large areas of forest, which are popular for excursions year-round. There is easy access to hiking terrain and illuminated cross-country ski trails. The lake Prestvannet and surrounding park area are great for walks/jogging and connects with paths that lead further around the island. The closest supermarket and gym at Elverhøy are just a five-minute walk away. The gym connected to the Elverhøy Student Housing, which features basic strength and conditioning equipment, is open to members of the Kraft student sports centre.

Public transportation

There are good bus connections to downtown Tromsø. From downtown Tromsø or from Giæverbukta you can take a bus directly to the university campus.

Parking

Residents with car can park in designated areas. See signs in the area for payment solution. There are parking spaces with charging stations for electric cars, in front of the blocks. Contact us at tromso.bolig@samskipnaden.no for info about this.
