Samskipnaden | Single room - shared bathroom

Location

Øvre Breivang Student Housing is a 15-minute walk from the campus and 4 km from the city centre. Single rooms and one bedroom flats are available in two connected five-storey apartment blocks. Residents have access to sauna and laundry. During the summer / autumn of 2022, the building will be upgraded, which may cause some noise at times.

Housing

Each single room is furnished with a bed (90 cm), desk, chair, book shelf, coffee table, lounge chair and blinds. You need to provide your own bed linen and kitchen utensils. Two residents share each kitchen and bathroom. There are storage rooms on the ground floor. All our kitchens have a stove guard. One for the oven and one for the hob. The laundry is located on 3rd floor on the B-side, by the common room.

Neighbourhood

Excellent opportunities for fitness out-doors adventures are right on your doorstep. A network of illuminated cross-country ski trails stretching the length of the island pass nearby the student housing. These are ideal for walking/jogging in summer, and skiing in the winter. The student sports hall Kraft on campus is also close by. The closest supermarket is 500 m away, while the closest student kindergartens are Breivika and Universet.

Walk or cycle to campus

Øvre Brevang is very close to campus. It takes 15 minutes to walk, and 5 minutes to cycle.

Public transportation

There is a bus stop right beside the student housing. The bus takes 10-15 minutes to the city centre, or to Jekta/Giæverbukta, where you will find Tromsø’s largest shopping centre with a wide range of shops and places to eat.

Parking

Tromso kommune has a fee of 100 NOK per month for parking. To make an agreement about parking please read more at samskipnaden.no/Frequently Asked Questions/Parking. Guest must pay with the parking app Easy Park. Read more on signs at the parking areas.
